Sea Turtle and Lotus | 8"x10" | Spirit Art
$24.99
Patience ● Resilience ● Trust
Sea turtles teach us about resilience and intentional patience. They defy the odds to make it to the ocean after hatching, move slowly throughout their lives, yet somehow, always arrive where they are meant to be.
Sea turtles travel thousands of miles across open ocean, guided by Earth's magnetic field. Something that is invisible to many, but deeply felt by some. They can live for over a century, and when the time comes, they return to the very place they began.
Their lives are not fast. It takes 20 to 30 years for a sea turtle to reach adulthood. And they spend a lot of time drifting in solitude, carried by currents, growing in ways that aren’t always visible or measurable. Even though it seems like nothing is happening, they continue drifting on.
Out of hundreds of hatchlings, only a few make it. They move forward against the odds, reminding us that we must move forward no matter what.
Drifting is not the same as being lost. Growth can be slow and still be meaningful. And you are allowed to take your time becoming who you are.
You are in your own current

Bald Cypress Tree, Milkweed, Butterflies, Dragonflies | Lowcountry Marsh Nature Scene (8x10)
$24.99
A print of a mystical marsh scene. Inspired by my time living in Charleston and experiencing the ecosystem there. Print features bald cypress trees, milkweed flowers, tree frogs, fireflies, dragonflies, and monarchs happily hanging out in a foggy and twinkly marsh scene.
Bald cypress trees are among the most ecologically important trees in the southeastern United States. They help reduce flooding by acting like giant natural sponges, slowing floodwaters, storing excess rainfall, and stabilizing soil with their extensive root systems to reduce erosion.
These ancient trees also filter water, store carbon for centuries, and provide habitat for countless species. Some have stood for over a thousand years, quietly shaping the landscapes around them. Protecting these ancient forests means protecting biodiversity and clean water, as well as creating more resilient communities.
Those eerie-looking knobs peeping out from the water are called cypress knees. While scientists still debate their exact purpose, they are thought to help stabilize trees growing in saturated soils and may play a role in helping the roots access oxygen.
Because of their ability to manage water, support wildlife, and withstand changing conditions, bald cypress trees are often incorporated into wetland restoration and floodplain projects. They are a powerful example of how native species can be used as nature-based solutions that benefit both ecosystems and people.
