Art, Ecology, & Kinship
Art for noticing, ecology for connecting, and kinship for belonging.
The stories within us and the landscapes around us are deeply connected
Moon & Meadow is an illustration and storytelling project inspired by the relationships that connect us to ourselves, one another, and the living world.
Through plants, animals, ecosystems, folklore, and symbolism, my work explores nature from two intertwined perspectives. Some pieces look inward, drawing upon the symbolic and cultural meanings we have given the natural world to explore themes of transformation, belonging, resilience, and renewal. Others look outward, advocating for real species, ecosystems, and the interconnected relationships that sustain them.
Together, these inner worlds and outer worlds reflect a simple idea: the stories within us and the landscapes around us are deeply connected. At the heart of this connection is kinship—a recognition that we are participants in the living world rather than separate from it.
Every piece begins with observation and curiosity
Art can help us notice the relationships that surround us: between species, between people and place, between our inner lives and the environments that shape us, and between the stories we inherit and the futures we choose to create.
Every piece begins with observation and curiosity. Moon & Meadow exists to help us rekindle our relationships with ourselves, each other, and the natural world for a sense of belonging.
