Welcome to Moon & Meadow Designs, where art bridges the gap between our inner worlds and the living world around us.
I'm Monica, the artist and storyteller behind Moon & Meadow. My work grew from a lifelong curiosity about the relationships between nature, creativity, psychology, and the stories we use to make sense of ourselves and the world.
My Story
I've always been drawn to noticing connections and patterns. Moon & Meadow is a place for me to explore relationships through illustration and storytelling, such as the symbolism we give to plants and animals, the ecological relationships that hold landscapes together, and the ways our environments shape our own sense of identity, belonging, and possibility.
My work moves between the symbolic and the ecological. Sometimes that means illustrating an animal alongside plants that carry centuries of folklore and cultural meaning. Other times, it means learning about a native species, the ecosystem it belongs to, and the relationships that allow it to thrive. I see both as different forms of storytelling: one helps us understand ourselves, while the other helps us better understand the living world we are part of.
Outside of Moon & Meadow, I study resilient communities, ecological systems, and the relationship between people and place. Those interests continually find their way back into my artwork and have shaped Moon & Meadow into something larger than an art shop — a space for curiosity, reflection, ecological appreciation, and connection.
At the center of everything I create is a desire to notice more deeply: to look closer at a landscape, learn the name of something growing beside the trail, recognize ourselves in an old story, and remember that we belong to something much larger than ourselves.
